Best cutthroat shave in Auckland

During the lengthy lockdown mid 21', I sat down by my beside table looked at myself in the mirror and sought change; gave myself a mullet with a pair of blunt scissors. It was at this moment I realized regret. My mother was shell-shocked, fourteen weeks later recovering from the shade my parents threw at me because of my decision. I booked an appointment with the bro Shayne last week a fading genius (In my opinion the best barber in Auckland) any haircut he gives never disappoints. Today he welcomed me in like I was at home, sat down and he did his magic. Left the store with an ego flying through the roof, went back home with a proud mother; proud of her handsome son :). 11/10 Shayne, you a real one.

Have been going for my haircuts here for a while now and I highly recommend the barbers here, definitely check them out. All of them are really good with cuts and also have great personalities, which always makes for good conversations. Here's why I like going here, these are always on point - fades, bead trims, lineups and trimming the top.

Have followed Joel who has just started here as he takes pride in his craft and am always pleased with the cut. Before this I had heard great things about Hair By Wayne though, so now can pass on that recommendation with experience. Friendly crew too, thanks boys!

Took my 16 year old here after a botched cut from another barber. Elliot worked his magic and came out with a trendy cut that my son loves. No wait time due to being able to make an appointment, and air con a bonus! My son will continue getting his cuts from Elliot. Very professional and friendly.

Awesome barbershop! Wayne is a consummate professional, extremely skilled in his craft. I appreciate that he shares knowledge as he cuts your hair, with regards to the shape and look and the process he takes to get there. Conversation often carries through the open floor, all the boys there are great conversationalists and this results in a top tier barbershop experience. HairByWayne brings back the barbershop culture!

I got my hair cut at Hair By Wayne and I am thoroughly impressed with this service. I felt very comfortable in the shop, the vibe is nice and had quality conversation, in comparison to other barber shops I've been to where the barber barely talks to you. Not to mention the quality haircut came away with, I had a great experience and definitely will be going back for another cut, 10/10👌

Great barbershop. Very friendly team. I've had Brandt and James cut my beard, and I'm always stoked with the result. Great conversation, and I'm fussy so it's nice being confident they'll do a mint job. Also love being able to book an appointment.

Our experience at Hair by Wayne was very satisfying. Wayne is very talented in his field and was able to tame my husbands hair in a way that was not only manageable but also perfectly suited his face. He was incredibly professional and friendly, listening to exactly what my husband was looking before starting the cut. He didn’t take longer than the time allocated and the store ambience was very relaxing - a 10/10 experience!

I was recommended by a friend of mine, was not disappointed! Wayne did my hair and facial. His impeccable attention to detail and relaxed attitude makes you feel at ease straight away! Nice modern salon with free onsite parking and easy access. 5 stars all the way! Highly recommend these guys 🙂

My first visit and Brandt did a great job interpreting a change of style for me after a long lockdown. Bit of a jump in going to a longer cut, and he got what I was looking for very well. Very happy with my cut, with the clean salon, and punctual and professional work. Top marks 🙂

Hair by Wayne is the best barbershop I have found since arriving in NZ a year ago. The shop is up to date and the staff are perfectionists. You even get a beer while you wait! Highly recommend if you value a good cut.

Really appreciated the barber who cut the hair of my 4 1/2 year old, he was very patient and did a great job. Wayne also did a great job on my hair, both were very professional. Appreciated the Father-Son Haircut option and we will be back!

First off I loved my haircut, but on top of that I really enjoyed the care and effort Kahlyn put into my cut, and the general vibe and atmosphere of ‘hair by Wayne’ would recommend for anyone looking for a mean as cut!

Another awesome cut by Alex! It was my second time having hair cut by him and I absolutely loved the first one so obviously needed to come back for my lockdown cut. I don’t usually get my hair cut too short but Alex took the time to consult and see photos from my previous cut in July and he made it happen. Love the cut and will definitely keep coming back! 100% recommended

Hair by Wayne provides a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff that make you feel right at home as soon as you enter. In addition to being skilled and attentive barbers, Wayne and his colleagues are also great conversationalists - successfully pulling introverts such as myself out of our shells. They'll even offer you a beer while you wait for your cut! Hair by Wayne has been my go-to barber since opening day and I cannot recommend them enough!

I've had hair cuts at other barber spots and this is by far the best.
